modus pr party

I attended the Modus party last week. They were celebrating 25 years of work, and what a beautiful set up they had. I was mostly excited about Stila and a skincare brand based from Greece called Apivita meaning The life of the Bee. I am so glad I have been introduced! They use all natural ingredients, all products and are paraben free and most are silicone free, and are derived from grapes, honey and herbs (very Mediterranean!) They are now being sold through Marks & Spencer so extremely easy to get your hands on if you wanted to. I have some samples so I cannot wait to use them and let you know what I think.
Next Stila, I always remember Stila as having the most cute and pretty packaging as a teenager. I remember going to Selfridges and just being mesmerized by all the colours and wonderful products. The lip glazes are a favourite of mine but after being talked through a number of products at the event by the lovely Janie I think I have a few more! Stay all day liquid lipstick was a stand out product for me, Janie swatched this on my hand, and it did not budge all day! This is a great product if you are looking for long lasting. The other was their One Step corrector which is a 3 in 1 product to counter act redness and dark spots, it also gives a brightening effect to the skin, what a perfect start into your foundation I say!
Look out for their skincare line launching in Febuary 2013.

autumn skin & hair care haul

Hello! So i have purchased a couple of products that i have been drooling over for a long time now and finally decided to rip the band aid off! i recently had my hair cut, I went to Windle & Moodie in Covent Garden and had a cut by the lovely Fran. The whole experience was like no other hairdresser i'd been to; by that i mean i loved my new hair. I've had long hair all my life but it gets damaged really easily, and wanted a simple snip to get it back to being healthy and thick again. I will definately be going back here, maybe for a colour next time but anyway more about the products! So the reason i picked Windle & Moodie was the fact that they used bumble & bumble products. I really like their ethos and just what their about. So i picked up Bb. Texture which is a gel like product that you run through your hair when damp and it just gives a 'undone but done quality'. I'm in love! I have really straight hair and this just gives a slight tousled effect that i really like without looking like i've done anything. I also bought the Surf spray, this is what i've wanted to own for ages, i haven't used this as much as the texture gel just because it makes my hair feel really dry. I see myself using this more in the summer.
I then went to John Lewis as they were doing a really great offer with Sisley where if you bought two Sisley products (one had to be skincare) you got a free goodie bag with a number of samples in. I've wanted to own a Sisley facial mask but the price has always left me speechless. After hearing about this offer i saved up and decided to take the splurge! I bought the Black Rose Cream Mask and the Phyto lipgloss in 4 (fushia) both are incredible, the mask is extremly luxurious and have been using it sparingly!! It gives your skin a beautiful radiant glow and soft to the touch. The lipgloss is such a pretty colour and not sticky! It also fills in those slight lines you have in your lips which gives you a plumper appearance whilst still being natural.
What did i get in my goodie bag?
'Confort' Extreme - (Body cream), floral toning lotion, anti-ageing cream, cleansing milk, instant perfect (minimizes shine & fine lines), foundation sample, black rose cream mask sample, radiance anti-ageing concentrate, soir de lune perfume & matching body cream. The kind lady working at the counter also gave me 2 samples of the tinted moisturiser due to me showing an interest.

Sadly the offer has finished. I do recommend keeping an eye out for offers like this, nearer to christmas beauty brands tend to do it, i know Clinque are doing one right now.
