I have been suffering with really dry/cracked lips for the past couple of weeks due to it being freezing, which means I've been living in a lipstick free-zone, (wouldn't even want to attempt to try to wear it)
It got to the point which everyone does where your lips get dry - you lick them (to regain moisture to them) - your lips get really dry - you lick them...and so on, making you play a repetitive game where no one is having any fun... Every lip balm that I used seem to make it worse, probably because they all contain petroleum in. Petroleum makes your lips soft for a while but will dry them out due to the nature of the ingredient. This makes you use more and more of the product, if you get my drift..
So the discovery began, I had some bepanthem in the back of my cupboard , this is why I thought this post would be useful. If you are a Mother or have had a tattoo you will have this stuff. It's sold at all pharmacies and supermarkets.. It's not an expensive discovery that will cost you £20, oh no! more like £2.89. (If you don't have the product already).
Okay, I've put it off long enough but should I tell you what it is normally used for? Bepanthem is a nappy rash cream, but is multifunctional - this is where the tattoo bit comes in. (recommended for after-care) This nourishing cream speeds up the healing process, and due to it's function, it is extremely gentle on the skin. I suppose it's similar to E45 which is used for eczema sufferers, but a baby friendly version. Have I gone nuts? maybe but the most important thing is that it works. I was dodging counters to use self service machines in shops due to not wanting anyone analysing my sand paper mouth. In the photos you can see the difference it made on my dry hand imagine what it did for my lips. One thing though, because this cream is very thick I would recommend using this quite liberally at night, and if you need to, quite sparingly throughout the day just because it can look quite greasy.
Let me know what you think. Do you like these bonkers discoveries?
My boyfriend, Adam has just started a blog (he shoots all my videos for YouTube and recently been shooting for my blog) It's a bit rough around the edges still but take a look and let him know what you think, he is the guy to talk to if you are starting a blog/YouTube account and have any camera questions. Plus he takes beautiful photographs. www.adamings.blogspot.co.uk

I'm literally suffering with cracky skin and chapped lips (with the repetitive licking) so this post came to me in perfect timing! I can't buy Bepanthen where I live but I will try and look for an alternative nappy rash cream! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI love Bepanthen :) I used it on my tattoos and then I discovered it's perfect for dry lips, dry skin on knees, elbows and heels :)
